About the Club
This is a family orientated sailing club on the Central Coast in NSW.
Sailing dinghies from the beach at NOELA PLACE every Sunday 1300 hrs start.
The club sets aside the
THIRD SUNDAY OF EACH MONTH
as its special day to welcome those who would like to try the sport of sailing. Experienced, friendly skippers are ready to take you out on the lake.
Turn up at 10am, wear comfortable clothing and perhaps bring a towel and some spare clothes & spray jacket (you may get a little wet depending on the weather).
You will be met by an experienced instructor who will start your session with a brief theory chat and an on land demonstration before you hit the water.
Founded on the beach, Oct 1972 at Budgewoi on Lake Munmorah. A well known member of the club is 97yo veteran sailor, founder & life member Ashley Chapman, who received an outstanding citizen achievement award from the Commonwealth Trust, Central Coast Branch in 1990. In 2000 Mr Chapman received the Australian Sports Medal. He is the first & only president of the club and is still an active competitor.
The club has conducted many National and State Championships in dinghy classes- Corsair, 125, Cadets, Solo, Enterprise, NS14, Princess, MG etc. Over the Easter period in 2011 they would like to host a regatta for any off the beach classes.
